Avoid Lentils When You Are on Candida Diet - Read the Reason Here

Many people love lentils, I know that. But what they don't know is lentils will cause trouble and pain for those who also have candida or yeast infection. In this article, I show you a case from a woman that has something to do with lentils. She was feeling better and went out to lunch for the first time in 3-4 weeks. She ate a few mouthfuls of white rice and some veggies in a brown sauce. She felt okay afterwards.

For dinner, she went out again and ate lentils, some potatoes, and a spinach dish at an Indian restaurant. She ate too much--or something! She woke up with the sniffles and abdominal pain. Even though she wasn't thrilled with this, she is really happy that she is sensitive enough to know when food is not good for me. Lately, she has had immediate reactions to certain foods, which she will avoid for a month or so before eating again.

In my opinion, lentils could be her problem. They are to be avoided on candida diets until the very later stages, when you are more healed. One of the reasons is that they are high in oxalic acid, and there are other digestive reasons too.

I know that many people love lentils, but you will have to give them up for a bit although you have probably eaten them before and not had a reaction. Or may be in fact, you felt really good when you ate *just* lentils and some papads (made of lentils). Maybe it had to do with mixing up so many kinds of food.

There is another thing, it is about beans. The book I read which I have been 'madly' trying to find all last night on this issue - says that when a person is first starting the candida cleansing they should not eat beans unless they are 'sprouted first' for the first while. Then as their gut gets stronger, and they progress in their cleansing they can add them back. However, on the lentils the book says no adding back - and to quit them permanently.
