Your Own Candida Diet - Swollen Red Face, One Eye Was Swollen Shut and Cheeks Were Red and Itchy

I got a message from a friend of mine sharing about her experiences in dealing with yeast with her own way. She said that she is not even sure if she has a yeast infection. The last day, she woke up with swollen red face, one of her eyes was nearly swollen shut and her cheeks were red and itchy. This has happened before and she fasted on fruits and vegetables until the problems went away. This time, which has lasted 3 weeks, fasting did not work and the problem got even worse. She ate plum and the itching intensified, then she ate an apple and the same thing happened again.

She completely gave up eating any kind of sugar. She was a vegetarian, but she started eating fish for the Omega 3 and because she knew she wasn't allergic. Now, she eats only brown rice, millet, vegetables, olive oil water, and herbal teas. She started this diet yesterday at lunch. By this morning, her skin was soft but still red. Then it was like she had sunburn. All that skin came off, and now her skin looks nearly normal, it's just a bit pink.

HOSPITAL DIET

This just seems like a miracle to her. And now she is searching around like crazy for ideas of what to cook, as there are so few real candida recipes on the web. She wonders how long she has to stay on this diet. She has read some people say 30 days and some says 6 months.

Actually it depends on how bad your yeast situation is. A very rough rule of thumb is to allow a month for every year you've been ill, and then at least 3 months after you feel completely better. Candida has a 3-month incubation period, so if you come off the diet too soon, you might just be feeding a whole new colony. You need to take a good probiotics - acidophilus plus a range of other strains - and at least 2 or 3 different types of antifungals, rotated every 4-5 days to stop the yeast becoming resistant to it. I take grapefruit seed extract, olive leaf extract, garlic and caprylic acid, and have had the most success with the grapefruit seed.

Is White Tongue and Lump in the Throat Part of Candida Symptoms? - Ketosis From A Low Carb Diet

My friend wants to know if white tongue and lump in the throat is a candida symptom. She has a white coating on my tongue, because she does and it is giving her bad breath. Also, she thinks she has a lump in her throat. She is wondering if that is related to candida or acid reflux or both.

Most of us, the candida sufferers, have that white tongue she got, but it isn't candidiasis, it caused by other yeasts. I believe this Yeast syndrome is one of the worst diseases out there, because you don't know what you have.

HOSPITAL DIET

The white coating on your tongue itself is a sign of cleansing and/or ketosis. I read somewhere that it happens and is normal when you stop eating carbohydrates/sugar and only eat the protein and fat. Try scraping your tongue and drinking more water. The coating will clear up as your body becomes cleaner. This really makes sense, because it happens to me when I cut off carbs.

Bad breath means toxic colon. I, too, have had the lumpy sore throat for years. It went away after I did a year and a half program from candida wellness center, but still had vaginal yeast, so I don't really recommend it. I find that when I follow a low carb diet I get a lump in my throat. It happens all the time.

Ketosis, which makes you having the white tongue, is not a healthy thing to be in, as it means you are burning too much fat too quickly and it can tax your kidneys. You may want to increase your carbs a bit by eating more veggies.

Digestive Enzymes to Human Bodies For Candida Diet

More and more people have found out about the importance of digestive enzymes to human bodies and encourage others to start adding it to their diets. Have you joined the club, too? They are very important for the entire body to function, and many candidiasis and other yeast-related problems sufferers feel the positive effect of this enzyme to their overall health improvements.

There is also this really neat enzyme / anti inflammatory mix that is totally natural and has been used a very long time in Europe, it is called Wobenzym N, a masterpiece that is manufactured by Wobe-Mucos in Germany. This enzyme has gone through tests, researches, and medical proof for more than forty years. Wobenzym N is very effective for sports and traumatic injuries, viral, bacterial, and fungal infections, rheumatic and arthritis pains, edema, digestive problems, sinus infection, and even for cold and flu.

HOSPITAL DIET

What this enzyme does to your body is actually to get rid of impurities, destructive micro-organisms and foreign proteins from your blood stream and tissues. This action is known as a "biological vacuum cleaner." By adding this enzyme to your diet, you will have your inflammatory response weakened greatly and your normal immune functions work at a much healthier stage.

Some ingredients in the enzyme are Pancreatin 300mg, Papain 180 mg, Bromalain 135mg, Trypsin 72mg, Rutosid 150mg, and Chymotrypsin 3mg. There are a couple of websites that sell these enzymes. You can try getting it from modernherbalist or immunesupport website which people say has cheaper products.

Cereals to Have in Candida Diet Breakfast

A friend of mine thought she read somewhere that Cheerios were ok for candida diet breakfast if you must have cereal. She wonders if that is true because she can't seem to find it in her book now and she is getting desperate for the breakfast.

This is her first breakfast and this morning she tried oatmeal, some sort of wafer, a rice cake, sardines, and she takes they are all disgusting. Actually, the sardines were ok, but not for breakfast. And she didn't know there were bones in there. She is so hungry and can't wait until lunch when she can have a potato.

HOSPITAL DIET

I think Cheerios still have sugar in them, so it may not be a good choice. For cereal, I found puffed rice or puffed millet to be okay. I use almond milk (or unsweetened vanilla soy milk), a little bit of protein powder, and then sprinkle with cinnamon. If you like tofu, the soy product, you can scramble it like eggs and add the spices of your choice. Put it on a bed of brown rice or another alternative, quinoa, which you can cook like rice. Quinoa has a nuttier flavor than most grains. I found that I like it.

Millet tastes closer to corn, the other very safe alternative. All of these grain alternatives do not have gluten in them, which is very helpful since a great many of us candida sufferers can not tolerate gluten products (wheat, rye, barley). There are also some food allergy cook books that may have some good recipes for non-yeast breads, muffins, and pancakes/waffles.

I know how tough finding breakfast is. It is all about personal body. In my case, I am allergic to wheat, dairy products, eggs, and sugars or sweeteners of any kind except natural sugar. I eat only dry cereal that does not contain these items.

Major Points to Be Concerned in Candida Diet

By this article, I will point out some vital points in order to do an effective candida diet. When I went in to see the alternative doctor to treat candida, I had yeast growing in my pubic area and my entire digestive tract. My skin was yellow, and my eyes jaundice. I had ringing in my ears, trouble sleeping, horrible achy knee joints, and I was very irritable. The doctor looked over my blood work and did a complete life-style and diet evaluation. I didn't like what he came up with, and you aren't going to either.

Fortunately, since I thought I was dying, I did the plan. I can't remember all the little details, but here are the major points:
1. Nothing with sugar in it
2. Nothing with yeast in it
3. No red meat (it has antibiotics)
4. No fruit juices with one exception
5. Nothing with wheat or wheat-gluten
6. Nothing with MSG
7. Nothing fried
8. No alcohol
9. No corn

HOSPITAL DIET

The above list was absolute with no cheating. This means I could not have any processed foods of any kind. I had to read labels on anything I wanted to eat. I couldn't eat out anymore, and all my produce shopping was done at a health co-op, not a grocery store.

My diet consisted of lots of organic wild or brown rice, tofu, spelt bread, any and all the fresh vegetables I wanted except corn. It also contains any citrus fruits, Tahini, soy milk, organic oat bran, baked potatoes, and various herbs and vitamins which the doctor prescribed. The only fat I was allowed was one pat of real butter per day; a table spoon of extra virgin olive oil, and a table spoon of flaxseed oil per day.

The Best Candida Diet - The More Foods You Eat in Natural Form, the Better Off You Will Be

I don't think there is one particular diet that is the best candida diet. Just a little tip from me: the more food you eat in the natural, "whole" form, the better off you will be. I know that sounds so general, but there are so many diets, and which one do you follow? It all depends on your body. Now, let me explain: I chose to follow the most restrictive portion of diet when I first started, but it was what I needed as I had irritable bowel syndrome so badly that it was controlling my life and I didn't care to "wean" myself off like several other diets suggest.

Over time, I have had several tests done and found that there were foods I definitely had to stay away from, but that doesn't mean everyone has to stay away from those foods. Many of us develop allergies as we get older/become chronically ill, and it is important to avoid those foods that affect us negatively. Ironically, we often crave the very things we are allergic to.

HOSPITAL DIET

So, my suggestion to you is to use a simple diet for at least two weeks, then gradually add back some of the foods you have taken away (one at a time), but only those that are in a "whole" form. By that, I mean don't bring in ketchup or vinegar products for example, and see if you have a reaction, whether it be physical or emotional. Keeping a daily journal will be better to help you figure out what you can and cannot handle. Personally, I try to stay away from grains, but I eat them maybe once a week (by grains I mean breads, rice, crackers, etc.), as well as beef, shellfish, and dairy.

Avoid Lentils When You Are on Candida Diet - Read the Reason Here

Many people love lentils, I know that. But what they don't know is lentils will cause trouble and pain for those who also have candida or yeast infection. In this article, I show you a case from a woman that has something to do with lentils. She was feeling better and went out to lunch for the first time in 3-4 weeks. She ate a few mouthfuls of white rice and some veggies in a brown sauce. She felt okay afterwards.

For dinner, she went out again and ate lentils, some potatoes, and a spinach dish at an Indian restaurant. She ate too much--or something! She woke up with the sniffles and abdominal pain. Even though she wasn't thrilled with this, she is really happy that she is sensitive enough to know when food is not good for me. Lately, she has had immediate reactions to certain foods, which she will avoid for a month or so before eating again.

HOSPITAL DIET

In my opinion, lentils could be her problem. They are to be avoided on candida diets until the very later stages, when you are more healed. One of the reasons is that they are high in oxalic acid, and there are other digestive reasons too.

I know that many people love lentils, but you will have to give them up for a bit although you have probably eaten them before and not had a reaction. Or may be in fact, you felt really good when you ate *just* lentils and some papads (made of lentils). Maybe it had to do with mixing up so many kinds of food.

There is another thing, it is about beans. The book I read which I have been 'madly' trying to find all last night on this issue - says that when a person is first starting the candida cleansing they should not eat beans unless they are 'sprouted first' for the first while. Then as their gut gets stronger, and they progress in their cleansing they can add them back. However, on the lentils the book says no adding back - and to quit them permanently.

Candida Diet - Massive Weight Loss for Drastically Changed Diet

My friend's GP sent her to a GI to make sure that she is absorbing food because of her weight loss of 15 lbs when she is just starting a candida diet. In her opinion, it would be impossible not to lose weight for anyone with a diet that is so drastically changed. Anyway, she went to GI doctor and he wants to do a small intestine biopsy. Where she went into the hospital and got sedated, they put a tube down her throat to her small intestine.

She found this a little over the top considering he said that with her physical everything looked good, and also gave her a script for some blood tests. He seems to think that she is crazy saying it is a yeast problem. He asked, "What makes you think it is yeast?" her reply was, "Well, I have been on antibiotics for a year." Then, the doctor didn't have a comment. She is wondering if anyone ever has this procedure done.

HOSPITAL DIET

Also, last night she had the worst pains in her upper mid abdomen (right under the breast bone). It was a burning, bloated type of pain that radiated around her back and rib cage. It felt like something was stuck. Sure enough she got sick hours later and did not start feeling any better until today. She wants to know my thoughts on this.

Although I'm not a doctor, this procedure sounds ridiculous at this point in her treatment. I have lost 66 pounds on the candida diet because I haven't graduated from phase one and it has been 5 months. Now, they are worried about weight loss. I agree with her thought that some weight loss is natural response to dietary (strict) changes. I think the thing to pay attention to is how much are you losing in a shorter time span (say monthly). I don't think you should ignore the concern, but it seems a bit cruel to put you through a procedure like that so early on.

As for the doctor's attitude about yeast: it's not up to you to explain why you think so. Pay attention to your intuition about these things. You're making some really good choices and I can empathize with your doubts about it. Blood work, etc is always a good idea to monitor things, but I just think it is ridiculous that this has been suggested after 15 pounds of loss. Anyway, I just wanted to say pay attention to yourself and your intuition. Sometimes procedures can be a giant waste of emotional energy in a situation where your body is already adapting and healing so much that things still are quite stressed on a physiological level. One important question is what can be gained from doing the procedure. My last suggestion for you is to eat lots of oil on everything.

How to Gain More Weight in Candida Diet - Taking Enzymes in Intestinal Cleanse

The first time one of my friends did candida diet, she lost 35 pounds at the first month. This time, she only lost 5 pounds in the last 3 to 4 weeks, despite the fact that she eats organic brown rice, organic veggies, and half a chicken breast with garlic flavored extra virgin olive oil twice daily. He also asked me if I did the complete liver and intestinal cleanse, and if I take enzymes and supplements with it or wait until I am done with the cleansing.

This massive weight loss seems to be a problem for people who generally have no weight to lose. I am one of those. You have to eat so much to keep the weight on, and even then, it does not work. It is like me, where people keep on telling me to put on weight. However, on the diet I was put on I am allowed butter and nut butters. That way, I was actually gaining weight. Also, everyone can have beef, right? There are antibiotic and hormone free meats that you can buy. Lots of fat you can gain there!

HOSPITAL DIET

The liver cleanser by Hulda Clark uses Epsom salts, Grapefruit, and extra virgin olive oil. It went really well. My sister did it and said she was nauseous in the morning, but then was fine. Nausea is something that they warn you about.

Well, here is what I did with intestinal cleansing. I have done different cleansings over the years, but before I ever took Threelac, I did both of Dr. Schulze's #1 first, then #2 and #1. I took the enzymes before each meal. You should be going many times a day very quickly. Dr. Schulze is the expert on cleansing.

When Can I Start Eating Beans Again in Candida Diet?

This friend of mine really likes beans, such as lima, chickpeas, black beans, refried beans (organic of course), etc, and he keeps wondering when in the candida diet he can start eating these again. He also throws some other questions to me. He wants to know if lentil a bean and can be eaten on this diet. Then, what about organic blue corn chips? He found organic sweet potato chips, so he asked me if he can eat them.

He leads a very busy life and needs snack foods of some sort. That is fine if it has to be pieces of raw veggies, but he is going through some serious withdrawals here. He will kick this though in spite of the cravings.

HOSPITAL DIET

He is told that corn and sweet potatoes are on eating sparingly list. He really wants to kick these things, so he will avoid even the "eat sparingly" stuff until he knows it is safe. There are a lot of conflicting sources concerning this. Generally speaking, I guess the main question is: when is a good time to reintroduce these into the diet?

Well, you can re-introduce those things again after some times of the strict diet. It actually depends on one's personal body to tolerate some foods, but I would think that corn is a never. Dried beans are another story, though. I eat Wendy's Chili all the time and the beans in that don't kick me into cravings, or give my any trouble. Well, perhaps I experience some reasonable mild gas.

Candida Diet - The Foods in Body Ecology Diet

I have got this question regarding one of the most popular candida diets, the body ecology diet. He asked because he doesn't have the book yet. It says in that diet, we have to eat 80% veggies and 20% meat or grains. Being a newbie at this, he can't imagine eating 80% veggies, where most of it is consist of all vegetables. He can't even think of one meal where he would eat only veggies.

This may not be very scientific answer, but actually you only have to try to picture a plate with 80% full of veggies plus 20% meat or grains for each meal at a time. It is indeed quite hard if you are completely new to this kind of diet, and the only way is that you have to adapt yourself. The easiest way I have found so far is to combine either a vegetable soup or salad with every meal. The Body Ecology Diet book has some great recipes for soups, but don't be afraid to experiment your own recipes. I add lots of curry and/or ginger to my soups and they are delicious.

HOSPITAL DIET

One thing to keep in mind while you are on the Body Ecology Diet is that you may be allergic to certain foods allowed on the diet. I ate tortilla chips for months and then found out myself highly allergic to corn! I have been eating red potatoes, too, but I think they have been causing brain fog. So, if you are not getting better, definitely do the elimination diet to find out the foods you are sensitive to.

Carbonated Beverages to Be Restricted in Candida Diet

My friend read something online earlier about cutting out (among all the other things we can't eat) carbonated beverages in candida diet. She loves Perrier and Diet Rite peach melba drinks (sweetened with Splenda). She only has one Diet Rite per day, but she will often drink 2 25oz bottles of Perrier a day if she has it around. She wonders why carbonated beverages are not allowed.

I know that I have different reactions from the sugars versus the carbonation. The carbonation seems to make it all the way through my system resulting in little air pockets that come out when I use the bathroom. Unlike the sugar that causes the typical candida problems with me.

HOSPITAL DIET

I am trying to be as strict as possible on my diet, but at least for the first month or so I am allowing myself diet soda and sweet and low for my grapefruit and herbal tea. I know it kills, but I just have to have something to satisfy my sugar cravings or else I know I won't succeed! I have a book about candida diets written by a nutritionist who chewed sugarless gum in the beginning for the very same reason. I mean, we are only human and are capable of weaning ourselves off the stuff when the time comes. I am planning to go from diet soda to Perrier and then off that no matter what they say. It can't be that terrible.

Sometimes, I also break down and drink a "Spritzer" by "R. W. Knudsen". It doesn't affect me like typical sodas. It has sparkling water, concentrated fruit juices, and "natural flavor". But, as I have learned recently, there could be anything in that natural flavor.

I wanted to point out, too, if Splenda is made from sugar that they process. I am not sure if Splenda is any good for candida either considering what it really is. Try this for a fizzy drink: sparkling mineral water, unsweetened cranberry juice, and Stevia if you want to sweeten it. It is rather tart but refreshing!
