What is the Difference Between a Hospital Pharmacist and a Clinic Pharmacist

Hospital pharmacists are concerned with offering pharmaceutical services to a number of different types of hospitals, and hospital pharmacists differ from other types of pharmacists including clinic pharmacists for example. Some hospital pharmacists have more complex jobs such as complex clinical management of medication issues that a normal clinical pharmacist would not have to deal with. On the other hand, community pharmacists generally have other issues to consider including business and customer relation type issues.

On the other hand, the clinical pharmacist is someone that specifically provides patient care designed to optimize the use of medications while promoting complete overall wellness, health and the prevention of disease as well. The purpose of a clinical pharmacist is to care for patients in a health care setting. The pharmacist from clinical movement originally began inside of clinics and hospitals, and clinical pharmacists are often required to collaborate with health-care professionals such as physicians and nurses for example.

HOSPITAL DIET

While a clinical-pharmacist works more hands on with patients, hospital pharmacists are typically found on the premises of the hospital but not directly associating with patients. Hospital pharmacists work within hospital pharmacies, which are designed to stock a much larger range of medications than other types of pharmacies, including some medications that are specifically designed to be investigational or specialized in nature. Hospital pharmacists work to fill prescriptions that are called for by physicians, surgeons and other medical staff on the hospital premises. They usually stay in their pharmacy location just as a normal community pharmacist would, waiting for the prescription to arrive on the behalf of a doctor or a patient.

The biggest difference between a hospital pharmacist and a clinical pharmacist, then, is the level of hands on care that is provided to the patient on the behalf of the pharmacist. Hospital pharmacists mainly deal in the prescription medications, filling scripts and working with doctors. On the other hand, the purpose of a clinical pharmacist is to do the same with the addition of more hands on patient care. This is because the pharmacist job is spawned from a clinical pharmacy movement that came about as a need for more hands on care by physicians and other medical staff.

Both of these types of pharmacists have their purposes, especially in a medical setting. The hospital pharmacist works primarily with the medical staff to make sure that prescriptions are doled out as needed, and the clinical pharmacist works closely with the patient to make sure that the right prescriptions are called for and that health and wellness is promoted. While a hospital pharmacist is going to collaborate primarily with professional health care workers in the hospital, the clinical pharmacist is much more likely to collaborate directly with the patient in order to make sure that the right prescription medications are offered for the right purposes.

Experts recruiting team talks to hundreds of pharmacists across the country ever day. They have a database of thousands of pharmacists, any of whom might be the pharmacist you're looking for.

Mayo Clinic Diet - Burning Fat With Grapefruit

There are many diets out there that tout they are the best way for an individual to lose weight. They have claims from 'doctors' to the effectiveness, but overall very few, if any work.

Every year, a new diet comes out that millions begin to follow, which may or may not work, and this year it is the Mayo Clinic diet that is taking off as the 'in' diet for this year.

HOSPITAL DIET

The diet claims that cardiac wards in hospitals give patients this diet when they need to lose weight quickly for surgery or some other health manner. On this claim, the promoters of the diet tout its incredible effectiveness at helping people lose weight in no time at all.

The Mayo Clinic diet is based on eggs, meat and grapefruit. Grapefruit, according to supporters of the diet, is a catalyst to help burn away fat, so it can help individuals shed off the pounds quickly as the daily diet of grapefruit begins to work its magic inside the individual's body.

However, as with any diet there are problems. First, this diet is high in cholesterol and saturated fat, mostly due to the high concentration of eggs in the diet. As a result, both the British Heart Foundation and American Heart Association warn that the Mayo Clinic Diet can cause heart problems in individuals due to the high cholesterol and saturated fat contents in the diet.

That is not to say it won't work. Perhaps done in moderation it can be much more effective for individuals who are looking to lose weight, maybe a few times a week at the most. However, it is best not to make this your daily diet because of the risk of heart problems down the road due to this diet, as doctors claim.

If you do want to lose weight with the Mayo Clinic diet, you can simply take the most essential part of it, grapefruit, and add that to your diet. Grapefruit is a catalyst to burn off fat, so adding it into your diet a couple times a week will help you lose weight, without the worry of severe heart problems because of the high cholesterol and saturated fat in the eggs.

The choice is yours, some claim the Mayo Clinic Diet works while others do not. It may work for some people, and it may work for you. However, as with any diet, it is very important you do it in moderation.

The Mayo Clinic Diet is one of the most popular diets currently out on the market. Thousands of people use it every day as they try and lose weight. Claimed to be used by cardiac patients in hospitals as a way to lose weight fast, this diet is considered to be very effective by those who use it because of the fat burning ability of grapefruit.

However, as with any diet, there are problems and those come in heart problems because of the high cholesterol and saturated fat that can be present. Use it in moderation and see if it works for you.

Mayo Clinic Cardiac Diet

When you first hear of the Mayo Clinic cardiac diet, you think that this must be the perfect diet. If they are endorsing this diet, it must be both healthy and effective. If you do a little research, you'll be shocked at what you'll discover.

This diet is also known as the grapefruit diet. Fruit is good for you and I remember reading years ago that grapefruit can act as a catalyst to help you lose weight. This really seems like the healthy weight loss program you've been looking for. You eat mostly grapefruit, eggs and meat and still lose weight.

HOSPITAL DIET

You may have read that this weight loss program is recommended in hospitals for cardiac patients that need to lose weight. This seemed a little odd. Usually you would expect a cardiac diet to be low in cholesterol and saturated fats. Why would the Mayo Clinic recommend a weight loss program that focuses on foods that are high in cholesterol and saturated fats?

Then came the shocker. The Mayo Clinic does not endorse this diet! They did not develop this diet. In fact, they have nothing to do with this diet! No one knows why this diet was named after the famous clinic. Someone way back in the 1940s named it that way and the name has stuck for all these years. Don't be fooled by the name!

Since the Mayo Clinic cardiac diet is not the healthy diet you thought it was, now you're back to square one. You still want to lose weight quickly with a healthy diet. You certainly don't want to try a diet that focuses on meat and eggs, especially if you have a cardiac condition. The best weight loss programs are the ones that let you eat well balanced meals that incorporate all the major food groups. The Mayo Clinic Cardiac Diet does not qualify.

This dietary plan does not include any exercise program and is not intended for a long term weight loss plan. It is an on off diet that you can use for 3 days of restricted eating and 4-5 days of regular eating. The diet promises to give you a more toned body, lower blood pressure and lower cholesterol levels. And its ultimate objective is to let you lose your unwanted weight within three days. A low blood pressure and cholesterol level will decrease your chance of obtaining a heart disease.

The strict dietary plan requires you to eat specific foods in exact portions and you must avoid overeating. You must also drink at least four cups of water daily. In 3 days you must diligently stick to this diet and after three days you can go back to regular eating in the next 4-5 days. Your restricted eating will trigger your metabolism to burn more fats thus resulting to radical weight loss.

The purpose of alternating 3 days diet with 4-5 regular eating days is to help your body restore the fats it has lost in the process of the 3 days diet and to keep your body from starvation. Extreme low calorie intake for three days causes your body to lose weight and shifts your metabolism leading your body to a ketogenic reaction.

Actually, the loss in weight is caused by loss of bodily fluids instead of fats. Within the 3 days duration of the diet, the dieters can consume 1000 calories including the consumption of tuna. In the long run, proper diet paired with an exercise program will give yield better results.
